Having lived in 5 states from 2001-2007, I’m one of a mixed identity. A WV girl frozen out of the PA snow belt despite sipping hot tea without ceasing, burnt out of south FL all too quickly, now settled in the heart of the south, it’s hard to tell where I fit best.
But, one thing is certain– I’m bringing my own bit of lemon to this sweet tea south. It’s a mixture of northern spunk, West Virginian hospitality, and my BeachBoy husband’s love of south Floridian ethinc cuisine and all things coastal.
When at first you don’t fit in, have another glass of sweet tea, wave sweetly at the strangers who are staring at you, and for goodness’ sake, act like you know what you’re doing!
